REBECCA started teaching Pilates after a diverse career in contemporary dance. Like so many dancers she was introduced to the method through injury rehabilitation. In 2002 she completed her 950 hour comprehensive training through the internationally renowned teacher training program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, Colorado, USA. She is a Pilates Method Alliance (PMA®) Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) and has been a Level 4 member of the Pilates Alliance of Australasia (PAA). Prior to moving to Australia in 2008, Rebecca was an instructor at Streamline Bodyworks in Salt Lake City, Utah, for seven years. In addition she has taught Pilates for the Repertory Dance Theatre Community School, Ballet West Conservatory, The American College Dance Festival Association, Pilates Studio Townsville, JCU Sport, teachers at Vincent State School, as well as third and fourth graders at the Open Classroom Charter School.
In addition to running Dragonfly Pilates & Movement, Rebecca has been teaching Pilates mat classes for Dancenorth as part of their Open Classes since 2009. She is also a certified Level 3 AntiGravity® Fitness Instructor and teaches privates and small groups in Aerial Fitness & Yoga & AntiGravity® Pilates. To complement her movement teaching, Rebecca's latest endeavour is Dragonfly Healthy Living, a resource for health from the inside out.
